Testing Testing 1 2 3

Hey hey hey! It has been a crazy month and it is just now beginning.

The memorial break was an awesome, family filled trip. We spent the weekend at the lake and finished up our last  minute prep for Ramadan. Inshallah, Ramadan will begin in just a few days. Before we headed to the lake I finally had my daughter take her Ancestry test. While at the lake, I had my mom take hers. I am super excited to have all these results. I have not decided who will be next if anyone.

One of my mother brothers is paranoid, he refuses to take the test. lol. He’s like no way, I don’t want random strangers having a piece of me. He is too funny, but I respect that.

One of my mother’s brothers just recently passed away, and in my opinion, it is very important to appreciate the time we have with our loved ones, learn their stories and life experiences and share their wisdom with the rest of the family. By wisdom, I mean real beneficial information, not just information for the sake of having it, or gossiping; but what they have learned in life and what they would like to pass on to others.

That is what this Ancestry Project is for me. It is about the passing on of wisdom.

Do you have a family tree, or family bible or Quran that you keep track of your family legacy? leave a comment below and share your story.
